Mr. Murdoch mentions “stealing” from “comptetiion” quite a bit. The last half of the interview goes into global economy, politics and general opinions… Try not to imagine him talking to a kangaroo with glasses while watching…

The long anticipated (well for those who started working on it back in January) Valemont original series is slated to debut tonight on MTV and Verizon Vcast. The question is The short form series will run on television between premiere airings of the Hills and the City as well as on MTV.com and Verizon Vcast. There will be strong social media components to it with Facebook accounts, twitter feeds from characters and real “institution” sites on various MTV digital properties.

It seems that MTV is just riding the Vampire wave but with Electric Farm Entertainment producing the series it has promise… at least the script was good… The $75,000 question is will viewers know what it is and want more? Will it drive Verizon Vcast subcriptions which at the end of the day really all that matters for MTV. Past web series that have debuted in commercial time on air have had mixed results. The television is still good for getting viewers to all tune into a program at the same time but will they remember to watch it online?

Tune in Tuesdays for the City and the Hills with a little bite of a Vampire sandwich in between…
